About the book

What does that recycling machine do? Discover Recycling Machines helps children ages 4–6 explore how moving belts, size-sorting screens, magnets, sensors, balers, washers, and other machines perform different jobs. A grown-up can read every page aloud while children point, say, circle, color, trace, count, compare, put pictures in order, and draw their own responses. The book follows examples from plastic, paper, and aluminum recycling and shows distinct machine jobs such as moving, sorting, cutting, washing, pressing, shaping, and drying. Two optional Room-to-Grow Challenges add another step for children who are ready. Answers and grown-up notes are included, and every learner face has an intentional blank back. All activities use the book's pictures; no real waste handling or equipment operation is needed.
